Verde Valle Ancho Chilli 75g contains whole dried ancho chillies, one of the most popular chillies used in Mexican cooking. Ancho chillies are dried poblano peppers, known for their dark red colour, mild heat, and sweet, fruity flavour. They offer gentle warmth with notes of raisin, dried plum, and cocoa, making them ideal for rich sauces and marinades.
These chillies are commonly used in classics such as mole, adobo, stews, sauces, and slow-cooked meats. To use them, simply remove the stem and seeds, then soak them in hot water until soft. Once rehydrated, they can be blended into sauces or chopped into dishes. Their mild heat makes them suitable for both everyday cooking and more complex traditional recipes.
How to use:
Rehydrate in hot water for 15–20 minutes before blending or cooking. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
